There were many messages delivered on that stage. The main message: A CHANGE in our thinking and in our being towards others is very necessary in order to live better lives.

What did I personally enjoy most about “Misconceptions?” Culture! Culture within each performance. There was culture even in the food and refreshments. The different dishes. The great selection of wines. (Btw: the pasta salad was perfection. Just the right amount of red onion for a gathering. Having onion breath was not of worry. Even though I ALWAYS have gum. Psst…Come see me if you ever need freshening up! ;-))

Full Circle Ensemble NYC

What did I dislike about the show? Nothing! I enjoyed every moment of the show. What stood out the most to me was the lack of NYC poets in the audience. This was not a show of poets performing for poets. The minimal presence of other curators, facilitators and artists in the NYC poetry scene was apparent. Although, artists supporting artists, and the art scene supporting one another is good to see, not seeing a room full of curators, facilitators, artists and poets at a poetry show – instead, a room full of poetry-lovers/patrons with new faces, is what I appreciated seeing the most at this show. It just goes to show that spoken word poetry group The Full Circle Ensemble caters to the people. The poetry-lovers. The patrons. They appear to know how to reach the people. They know how to create great entertainment that the people want to see, love and return to. And that is what creating art is all about.
