ABOUT THE HOST SANTOS TAINO “THE SENSUAL ANGEL”:
Santos Taino, “The Sensual Angel”, a truly gifted Poet and Spoken Word Artist, the first and only male member of The Tantalizing Angels of New York City. Although, much notoriety and fanfare is made about The Sensual Angel’s very sultry & seductive words on stage; said to bring ladies to the brink of ecstasy by his mere vocal inflection alone when performing some of his well-crafted and sexy poetry…he cannot be dismissed as a one hit wonder type of spoken word artist based on one particular genre of poetry be it Erotic or otherwise.
Mr. Santiago’s love of language and prose evolved into a lifelong love affair with Poetry as his primary outlet for creative expression however he is also an accomplished Musician, Songwriter and Vocalist who has performed with some of the world’s most popular Latin recording artist as well as performing R& B and Rap/Hip-Hop to name a few genres.
He is currently a member of The Advisory Counsel for The Bronx Museum of The Arts. These days however you are most likely to find Mr. Santiago blazing the microphone on stage about town in New York at various venues including the Moca Bar & Lounge or the legendary Nuyorican Poets’ Café. And because he has such a veracious appetite for poetry, he just launched “The S.E.X.Y Show aka The Sultry Erotic XsundaY Show” which broadcasts live, online, via Talkshoe.com every Sunday.
ABOUT THE FEATURE DIGMARIE RUIZ:
DigMarie Ruiz – Vocalist, R&B/Soul
Bronx native DigMarie is no stranger to the music industry. Her father played the congas and was the lead singer in a band he formed with his siblings. The rhythm of Salsa and the sway of the Merengue are in her blood.
As an R&B solo performer, DigMarie began her musical journey during her college years where she was a soprano in the choir. DigMarie performed with the ensemble at special events, awards ceremonies, and at festivities around the Albany area.
After college, DigMarie placed her music career on a hold. But there is only so long that a dreamer can suppress a dream. She began working with independent producers Kornbread and Powersol in 2007. This is where she discovered her flair for songwriting. She wrote and recorded her first three songs, “Playing Games,” “Right Place,” and “I’m Free” – all of which explored themes of heartbreak, finding love, and freedom. She was inspired by Mary J. Blige, Whitney Houston and Sade and has created her own sense of perseverance. These talented beauties have all overcome enormous obstacles to pursue their passion for music.
Recently, she began working with Hazali, producer and founder of Forthelovers Music Group, where she continues to grow and experiment with her sound. She recently released her debut EP album entitled “Let Go,” which is now streaming online and available for download.
DigMarie frequently performs at numerous music showcases in the New York City area.
