Capicu Culture Family & Friends! Get to Orchard Beach THIS Saturday, September 5, 2015 between 7:00am – 6:00pm for The (FREE) Annual People’s Poetry In The Park/Bomba Fest & BBQ w/ Friends & Family. Lisa Centeno aka Boricua Goddess is throwing her annual end-of-the-summer gathering of the community to show her love and appreciation for you all – to get the Art community to relax, relate & reconnect with one another – and to celebrate LIFE of the people in the community — her family, friends, fans, followers, and everyone who wants to join in on the FUN.
The weather will be a beautiful 85°F / 63°F clear, with no rain in sight, so bring your blankets, folding chairs/tables, food(picnic-style), friends, family (of all ages), and have some fun in the sun with Capicu, the NYC Arts community, and the Art-lovers. ART-LOVERS: This is a great way to meet some of your favorite poets/artists, and to connect with them face-to-face. Many of the greats will be present. There will be poetry, live music, live-art, an OPEN MIC and loooots of entertainment for all to enjoy! ALL ARE WELCOME!
If you can’t make it to the gathering, be sure to SHARE THE INFO with someone whom might be able to come. And do be sure to go to and CLICK THE LINK and leave a message with Boricua Goddess on the Facebook invite. She and her family are embarking on a new beginning in Florida, Sept 7th. Show your love and send them off with blessings and positive thoughts!

MESSAGE FROM BORICUA GODDESS:
“My main objective: I always do this picnic on the last Saturday before classes officially resume as an End of Summer Break gathering. I do it this way to provide a neutral ground for EVERYONE to attend and enjoy. This is an awesome icebreaker as well. There is no need to “dress to impress”, no pressure of “one on one’ meetings, but most importantly, it’s a FAMILY event. No one needs to be left behind.
Be sure to RSVP to the event and invite all of your friends and family. This will be, as proven over the past years, to be an incredible event of music, poetry, visual art, food, dancing, conversations, networking, relaxing and appreciating life and loved ones as we partake in engaging those we know and establishing new relationships. EVERYONE is welcomed so please do not hesitate to invite anyone and everyone you want. Bring your your easels, your instruments if you have any, especially you drummers. Come on through sin pena, it’s going to be a memorable day as we bid farewell to the summer. SEE YOU THERE!
This is an awesome way to meet the people you’ve established relationships with over time over the line but have never had the chance to meet. This is also a great way of meeting new people and creating new relationships.
It’s always wonderful to share laughs, stories and great food, play games, dance, and create new stories for new memories.”
“Orchard Beach in the BX is always an absolutely beautiful and important event that I look forward to every year, and know that I will talk about when I am a viejito! LOL we typically have a large BBQ, live bomba musicians, poets, artists, singers, and many members of the community bring their children and even their pets.” ~ Papo Swiggity
