“Curators Empress Poetry and Negus Adeyemi present Spoken Words With Friends, NYC which is a MONTHLY OPEN MIC event hosted at Brooklyn’s Inkwell Comedy and Jazz Club (408 Roger’s Ave.) and occasionally at its second-location (1165 Bedford Ave.) in Brooklyn. We welcome POETS and VOCALISTS to perform on our stage; some have been offered features to give them the opportunity to display their various gifts.
Spoken Words With Friends, NYC 2016 has taken a twist. We will still be an OPEN MIC EVENT, inviting any audience member to sign-up and perform. However, the twist is, EACH MONTH we will feature a different musician, giving them the opportunity to share their gifts with the audience in a timed performance. They will also have the option of accompanying selected open mic performers.
Musicians, include, but are not limited to: drummers, saxophonists, guitarists, vocalists, keyboardists, and on occasion small ensembles.”
