“Smokin’ Word & Drum Open Mic,” hosted by ELKAT Productions with Machete Movement is LIVE! EVERY LAST SATURDAY of every month at El Fogon Center for the Arts in the Bronx.
“Smokin’ Word & Drum Open Mic” features poets, musicians, and artists of all walks of life, whose art carries a message for the people. The ELKAT team collaborates with each featured artist to create a unique production for the showcased artist, setting a different tone from month-to-month.
This month, “Smokin’ Word & Drum Open Mic” features Full Circle Ensemble NYC members/Poets – Margarita Cruz & Rashawna Wilson.

“April’s “Smokin’ Word & Drum Open Mic” will be like no other. We will be featuring the beautiful and talented Margarita Cruz and Rashawna Wilson! These two powerhouses will be bringing that fire, like only they can do, celebrating what it means to be women!
We’ll also be celebrating our very own, Vanessa Chica’s birthday!!! You won’t want to miss this love fest & cake!”
