Playwright A.R. Garcia is back with his latest play, The Session: Foster Care Unplugged, The Stage Play 4, this March 2024. In this play, co-written by Melody Centeno, Garcia advocates healing in youth foster care. The Session: Foster Care Unplugged, The Stage Play 4, will run for two shows at the Mark O’Donnell Theater at The Actors Fund Arts Center in Brooklyn, NY, on March 14th and 16th, 2024!

Let me give you the inside scoop. Foster Care Unplugged, The Stage Play is a series play that sheds light on what being in foster care is like. Garcia and Centeno are not just playwrights; they’re advocates for change. Their play dives deep into the world of foster care, shedding light on the struggles these kids face. But here’s what sets it apart – most of the actors? They’ve walked the same path. They know the highs and lows, the twists and turns of foster care, because they’ve lived it. And as they perform, they’re not just telling a story but healing themselves, one powerful scene at a time. Gather the family for an evening of healing through the arts. Trust me, you won’t want to miss it!

WHAT IS FOSTER CARE UNPLUGGED?
Behind the curtains is Foster Care Unplugged, the driving force behind this incredible initiative. They’re on a mission to uplift foster kids, offering everything from advocacy to therapy and community outreach. The play isn’t just entertainment; it’s a platform to spotlight these kids’ unique needs and give them a voice.

Through advocacy, non-traditional therapeutic programming, and community service, we aim to provide a holistic approach to healing and growth. Our programs are designed to address the unique needs of each individual and help them overcome the challenges they face. – Foster Care Unplugged
