Happy National Poetry Writing Month, Poets and Writers!

If you are a Poet and aren’t participating in the writing of poems this year, you can still participate in the celebration. After all, #NaPoWriMo IS to celebrate YOU. But if you decide not to write, how about counseling, encouraging, inspiring, mentoring, or spotlighting someone who is? I’ve already spotted poets spotlighting poets by posting the works of their peers on social media. I think it’s awesome! It exhibits community support. Great job, poets! #30DaysofSupportingYourPoetryPeers

If you are a novice writer or a Spoken Word Poetry fan, get creative, write something, share it at an Open Mic, and be amongst the millions of people who have fallen in love with poetry. 30/30 – that’s 30 poems in 30 days – await you. It’s not too late to get started. Challenge yourself. If it’s only 1 or up to 10 poems, take the challenge!

National Poem In Your Pocket Day

The National Poem in Your Pocket Day is celebrated on the last Thursday in April. This year, it falls on April 1, 2024.
