“Shamecca Long (Stage Name: Nzingha Jane) is a spoken word artist from Brooklyn, New York. Ms. Long started writing poetry at the age of 11 years old and has recorded well over 600 poems since that time. Her poems are best noted for its wit, satire, and depth, as she draws heavily off of real life experiences. Ms. Long takes pride in being a down-to-earth person who loves assisting people during their time of need.
Shamecca Long has been published in Our Time Inc. Caribbean Life News, SIMBAA, and BlackCityMag.com. In 2008, she placed 2nd in the Melvin B. Tolson Poet Laureate Contest at Lincoln University.”
